I recently completed Ahref’s ‘Blogging for Business’ course, so I can vouch that this is a useful course for those who create business blogs and want to refine their blogging skills and strategy.
- Primarily for marketers who already have an active blog and want to improve their strategy.
- Also useful for those wanting to start a blog but would be useful to know the fundamentals of digital marketing first.

- How to create a blogging strategy, how to grow a blog, how to analyse traffic potential, how to optimise a blog, great blog content, link-building, blog promotion and guest interviews.

- It should take around 4hr and 56min.
- Like most online courses, you can take this course at your own pace and revisit sections as much as you like.

To note: there is no certificate for this digital marketing course.
I would recommend combining this course with Hubspot’s content marketing course, Ahref’s SEO course for beginners and Hubspot’s blogging course. This way you cover all areas needed to understand and implement a successful blog strategy.
Google’s ‘Fundamentals of Digital Marketing’ course
Google offers free digital marketing courses that can help you either grow your career or grow your business (but if you ask me, upskilling your expertise will help your business grow anyway, so all training courses can help grow both your career and business)
The ‘fundamentals of digital marketing’ course is a course that covers a range of digital marketing topics in lots of detail. This course will take you some time to complete but you are bound to learn a lot.
- I would say this course is for anyone in the marketing industry. If you have just started your career and want to learn everything you need to know, then this is great but it’s also as useful for those who have been in the industry for years. There is always something you can learn!
Who is it for?
- How to grow an online presence, paid search, mobile and localisation, content marketing, video, metrics, e-commerce and how to expand your business globally.
What does it cover?
- This course is estimated to take you around 40 hrs to complete.
How long does it take?
This is a long course but you can split it up over your weeks/months and it becomes a lot more manageable.
- 24 modules, quizzes, a final assessment and … a digital award to share on LinkedIn.
What else does it include?
With this course, you must complete a section before you can move on to the next. As mentioned, Google does offer a wide range of digital marketing courses both free and paid. Go explore and see what suits your needs best.
‘LinkedIn learning’ courses
Although not all LinkedIn learning courses are free, there are some older ones available for free; you can also get a free month trial to see how you find it, so make the most of that! You can then buy LinkedIn learning for your business and give your team access to a range of useful courses.
The ‘Marketing Tools: Social Media’ course is a helpful course for those wanting to understand which marketing tools are most useful for them and their business. LinkedIn learning courses are also fairly short, making these digital marketing courses good for those short on time.
- Social media marketers want to upskill their expertise and make the most out of social media tools.

Like with most platforms I have mentioned, Udemy offers several different courses but if you are looking to upskill your digital marketing, then ‘The complete digital marketing course – 12 courses in 1’ is the one to go for.
- This course is suitable for both beginners and those with marketing experience. Whether you work in a b2b or b2c business, this course is useful.
Who is it for?
- Market research, making a website, email marketing, copywriting, SEO, Social media marketing (per platform), Quora marketing, Google ads, Google analytics, app marketing and old content.

- The course should take you around 22h 30 mins.
How long does it take?
- 35 articles. 8 downloadable resources and … a certificate of completion.

- The standard price for this course is £64.99 but I have seen this course at a discount so keep your eyes peeled as the price could vary.

Google’s digital marketing and e-commerce professional certificate
You can learn the basics and develop your digital marketing skills with Google’s digital marketing and e-commerce professional certificate course on Coursera. Although this is a paid course, you can take the course at your own pace.
- Anyone wanting to learn in-depth digital marketing skills and AI training from Google experts. There is no experience required for this course.
Who is it for?
- Foundations of digital marketing and e-commerce, how to attract customers, how to interact online, email marketing, analytics, how to manage online stores and customer loyalty.
What does it cover?
- The course should take you around 6 months if you were to complete 10 hours a week.

- You can pay $49 a month on Coursera and complete the course on your own time. You can also receive a free trial so this is worth doing if you start this course.

Professional Diploma in digital marketing by ‘Digital Marketing Institute’
This course is one of the more expensive options but it is designed for those who are responsible for developing and implementing online marketing strategies.
- Although this can be used by senior marketing professionals, this course can also be useful for those just beginning in the marketing industry.

- AI-powered digital marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, SEO, paid search, email marketing, professional soft skills, web optimisation, social commerce, Google analytics and marketing strategy.
What does it cover?
- The course should take you around 28 hours in terms of learning content.
How long does it take?
- 10 modules. Plus, when you are enrolled you become a digital marketing institute member and receive access to premium resources.

- You can pay £1590 in full or £530 in monthly instalments.
