Head of Finance

We’re looking for an experienced finance professional to lead our finance function and support the continued growth of Embryo.This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and play a key part in supporting Embryo’s performance and future growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Leading the day-to-day finance function, including accounting, payroll, invoicing, payments and credit control
• Preparing monthly management accounts and board reports, highlighting performance, risks and opportunities
• Working with senior leadership on budgets, forecasts, cash flow and working capital
• Monitoring client, project and service-line profitability to support commercial decisions
• Supporting pricing, proposals and contract negotiations, considering their impact on margins
• Maintaining financial controls and overseeing statutory accounts, tax and compliance
• Managing relationships with external advisers and supporting strategic projects
• Leading and developing the finance team, where applicable

Skills and experience:

• Qualified accountant, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Experience in a senior finance role with responsibility for a finance function
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
• Experience overseeing financial controls, statutory accounts, tax and compliance
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to turn financial information into practical recommendations
• A hands-on approach and the confidence to communicate clearly and constructively with colleagues at all levels
• Experience using financial reporting tools, with strong Google Sheets/Excel skills
• Experience in an agency or professional services business is desirable
