Linkedin Creator Developments
Do you consider yourself a Linkedin creator?
Linkedin is home to thought leaders in a variety of industries. From digital marketing experts to healthcare professionals, Linkedin is a widely used platform for content curators looking to spark (occasionally heated!) debate and encourage people to engage in their area of expertise.
In 2019, LinkedIn sessions increased 25 percent year-over-year, with 358 billion feed updates viewed. However, just 3 million users share content on a weekly basis. This means that only 1% of LinkedIn’s 260 million monthly users share posts.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that Linkedin constantly strives to encourage prominent content creators to continue to post on their platform, as well as inspire new users to create regular, engaging content. This was likely a leading factor in the launch of new profile feature, ‘Creator Mode’ in 2021.
What is Linkedin Creator Mode?
Linkedin Creator Mode is a profile setting that allows ‘regular’ users to become ‘LinkedIn Creators’. In enabling creator mode, users allow their content to be displayed more prominently on their profile, as well as meaning that profile visitors are encouraged to ‘Follow’ rather than ‘Connect’.
The setting strives to assist in the growth of creators’ reach and influence on the platform. It also permits access to additional tools and features that aren’t available to standard users.
Linkedin has also since introduced a variety of updates with the aim of helping creators to establish their voice.
Access to Newsletters and Linkedin Live
The first of these updates was the platform opening access to newsletters and LinkedIn Live via creator mode. The goal of this was to provide creators with more ways to make content.
New Creator Analytics
Linkedin creators are also now able to view creator analytics. Here, they can see impression and engagement trends of their posts over time in order to ensure that they’re sharing the right content for their audience, and optimise their content strategy accordingly.
Users with creator mode enabled can download these insights so that they’re able to analyse them in a way that works for them. Alternatively, they can get a quick, easy snippet by having a glance at their weekly impressions right on their profile.
Subscribe Bell
Creators can also keep their audience in the loop with content alerts. In a similar fashion to newsletters, followers can choose to receive content alerts by clicking the ‘subscribe bell’ on their profile.
This provides a new call to action opportunity, as creators can urge fellow users to click on the bell to receive a notification whenever they post new content.
Featuring Newsletters
Users are also able to feature their newsletter within the featured section of their profile. This enables their audience to quickly find the latest edition of the newsletter and subscribe.
Linkedin Audio Events
Linkedin audio events allow creators to host interactive discussions via audio with their audiences. These are live and can be hosted by any creator who meets Linkedin’s policies of being a trustworthy, safe, and professional provider of content. You can download your free, comprehensive Linkedin Audio guide here.
Highlighting a URL in your profile header
It’s easier than ever for a creator to help audiences learn more about their brand. With creator mode, a link can be added to the top of your profile. This is the ideal place to share work through a website or blog.
