Payday Party – The Best Local Bars In Manchester

It’s almost payday! And, what better way to spend it than in local bars, sinking pints, and enjoying tasty scran whilst simultaneously giving back to the community. Supporting Manchester’s independent establishments is something that should always be shouted about and, in times like these, it’s more important than ever. The pandemic has hit us all hard (especially the hospitality sector), so this bank holiday weekend, let’s go out and enjoy ourselves at the independent bars and restaurants that have brought so much buzz to Manchester’s vibrant nightlife.

Our list of the best local places to visit in Manchester could be colossal (just like our hangovers will be on June 22nd), so we’ve had to narrow it down. With that in mind, we’ve picked a few places which we LOVE. If you’re heading out for a boozy bank holiday, you can’t get much better than these places.

Top picks

Crazy Pedros

Mouthwatering pizza and a litre of margarita sounds like a good Friday night, doesn’t it? Crazy P’s has been a Mancunian favourite for years, thanks to its combo of banging food and class vibes.

YES

A four-floor bonanza known for quality gigs, cheap pints and good late-night scran. Whether you’re throwing shapes in the basement, raving in the pink room, or chilling on the rooftop beer garden, YES is a guaranteed great night out.

Ducie Street Warehouse

Stunning decor and unreal food make Ducie Street the perfect place to get the night started. A lovely selection of beers on draught and a classy terrace to enjoy them on makes Ducie Street a must-visit. Whilst you’re there, we’d recommend grabbing some tasty treats from the Gooey kiosk at the entrance. The cookies are to die for!

Lost In Tokyo

Head over to the Northern Quarter, be transported to Tokyo, and get lost in quirky cocktails. The basement bar has an authentic feel of Japanese culture and serves drinks that are inspired by various films – including Lost In Translation, which comes with a picture of Bill Murray. If we had to spend Groundhog Day here, we wouldn’t be complaining.

Honourable mentions

By no means lesser than our top picks, these are a few places that we just had to squeeze onto our list.

Feel Good Club – Join the insane toasties club (All veggie too!).

Another Heart To Feed – Another treat for foodies.

Ezra & Gil – Social & Hipster.

Ramona – Enjoy Detroit-style pizza around the fire.

Crown & Kettle – You’d be daft not to go draught.

Pollen Bakery – Sourdough by Islington Marina.

Mule – Serious about good coffee, and Insta-worthy cocktails.

Tariff & Dale – Wood oven pizza and classic cocktails.

Make the perfect payday party plans with any of the bars/restaurants from this list and take pride in knowing that you’re helping keep local businesses afloat that are so crucial to Manchester’s community. We’ll definitely be spending our payday’s at these places. Litre of ‘rita, anyone?

If you’re looking for a place to have your next payday party, there are a bunch of venue finders like Absolute Venues which will make the process much easier!
