We’re hiring a Finance Manager with a strong financial background and a keen eye for detail to oversee all financial duties and processes. As a fast-paced digital agency, this role is vital in ensuring the business finances operate efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct financial forecasting and risk analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for improving profitability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial processes and controls.
- Perform variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
- You’ll prepare a monthly payroll by liaising with our third party payroll provider and ensure all necessary checks are complete on a monthly basis.
- You’ll carry out credit control of assigned debtors, with high volume collection activity on small and large value invoices.
- You’ll action and resolve client invoice queries and disputes and you’ll raise credit notes when appropriate.
- You’ll handle reconciliation of customer accounts.
- You’ll be required to post and allocate incoming BACS, cheques and credit card payments with remittances onto the client accounts on a daily basis.
- You’ll complete maintenance and reconciliation of the unallocated funds on assigned debtors.
- You’ll be responsible for generating and transferring accounts to legal status.
- You’ll answer incoming telephone calls and ensure appropriate action is taken relative to each call.
- You’ll respond to all email requests within the agreed timescale and make sure that all clients feel satisfied and are courteously treated; this means all client communications to be appropriate in content and accuracy.
- You’ll collaborate with the Commercial Manager on the company R&D claim.
- You’ll process the payment collection and advise clients to sign up to Direct Debit.
- You’ll support our external accountants with any financial queries as required.
- You’ll perform any other ‘ad hoc’ duties as required and liaise closely with our Commercial Manager and Operations Director.
- You’ll manage the commission and bonus payments payable to sales and client service teams.
Specification
- You have a good working knowledge of sales ledger and substantial credit control experience.
- You are a good communicator with strong attention to detail and accuracy and solid reasoning skills.
- You’re a team player, with the capability to work to call and collection targets.
- You have good G-suite system skills including Google sheets and documents, and email whilst being open-minded to flexible ways of working and able to adapt to new processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of GoCardless, Stripe and Xero is a requirement.
