Digital PR Lead
Salary banding: £30k – £35k per annum
Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days in the Manchester office)
The Digital PR Account Manager will be responsible for leading account strategies and budgets, managing the day-to-day on accounts and generating media coverage through Digital PR campaigns, newsjacking and press office tactics.
You will ideally have a track record of ideating out of the box campaign ideas that have landed notable placements and links across a range of sectors.
Duties and responsibilities
- You will be responsible for your assigned accounts, leading the strategy to ensure we’re meeting KPIs.
- Leading ideation to discover new and exciting angles that excite the clients and the press.
- You will be leading client calls and ideas presentations.
- Strong awareness of the news in your day-to-day, identifying newsjacking opportunities for your clients.
- Responsible for reporting on all account activity to both the Digital PR Lead and your clients.
- Confidently ghost write comments and quotes.
- Drafting press materials and onsite content.
- Developing and building upon your already strong relationships with journalists across a range of sectors.
- Monitoring and replying to media requests.
- Building targeted, bespoke media lists.
- Working alongside other delivery channels, particularly SEO, Content, Data and Creative.
- Supporting the Digital PR Lead develop effective new processes and ways of working for the team.
Skills
- Desirable – Three + years of working in PR either in-house or in agency
- You’re well versed in Digital PR tactics and the modern media landscape
- Desirable – You have experience leading traditional PR tactics/strategies and have examples of this
- You understand terms such as organic visibility, reactive newsjacking, and proactive / product PR and are comfortable executing an array of PR tactics in your strategy
- You fully understand the importance of SEO in Digital PR and would be comfortable discussing this with clients
- Curious – You have a keen interest in current affairs, breaking news, and trend cycles and can confidently tap into this with your client base
- Creative – You have a creative flair and enjoy out of the box thinking
- Attention to detail – Your grammar skills should be impeccable with attention to detail in press releases, pitch emails and client communications
- Communication – clear and confident communication skills both internally and externally
- You can confidently lead client calls and updates as well as internal meetings
- You have a track record of securing notable press placements and pivoting account strategies
- You are confident in spotting a good news angle or story, pitching it to the client, and seeing the process through from start to finish
- Experienced in end-to-end management of creative campaigns – including both smaller and bigger budgets
- Not essential, but a plus is you have experience of working with influencers
- An organised and positive person who willing to learn, and open to new ideas and ways of working
- Someone who wants to contribute effectively and work as part of the team
