The most “Instagrammable” spots in Manchester

If you haven’t heard of the social media giant Instagram by now, it would be right to assume planet earth has not been your home for the past few years. Now being part of over 1 billion people’s morning routine scroll, the image-based platform has become a key marketing tool in the majority of business industries globally. Getting the perfect Instagram picture has become more of a sport than a hobby, especially now that Instagram has rolled out multiple features in the last year or so that can generate income.

Having said that, this year has meant the reliance on social media has been staggering, and has created the perfect opportunity to up your Instagram game and get creative while we were all either staying at home or getting our daily walk in, whatever tier you’re in. With rumours of tier 2 looming in our beloved rainy city, here are our hot spots around Manchester for getting those Instagram worthy snaps on your daily walk around the city, or when we can (finally) book a table somewhere again.

20 stories

With 360 views of Manchester from the rooftop terrace and a very impressive interior decor, the skyline provides the perfect backdrop for a late evening snap and a true fine dining experience complemented by excellent cocktails.

Northern Quarter

Located just behind Piccadilly Station, Northern Quarter is a hot spot for up-and-coming bars and restaurants, vintage clothing stores and the more traditional Manctopian architecture and street scenes. In more recent years, artists have taken to the building walls to paint incredible murals that all have an incredible story of support behind them. Highly Instagram worthy, and a true taste of Manchester’s quirky character.

202 Kitchen Manchester

This one is for the pink lovers. If you haven’t heard of 202 Kitchen yet, when tier 2 is sprung upon us you certainly will. It’s an entirely pink haven, with purpose built Instagram photo opps to make sure you’re making good memories and even better content for your feed.

Mackie Mayor

Aside from the excellent food and delicious coffee, Mackie Mayor is located in the only remaining building from the former Smithfield Market, and has been regenerated by the people behind the award-winning Altrincham Market to bring good vibes and a hidden gem in the middle of our concrete jungle. Perfect for getting that casual yet ‘vibey’ Instagram story, and eating some top notch food while supporting independent vendors too after an unprecedented year.

St. Peter’s Square

One of the more modern areas of Manchester, you’ll always be able to spot an influencer finding the perfect neutral coloured backdrop for her latest promo. The Manchester Public Library is an impressive piece of architecture in itself, but with the arches on West Mosley Street too and the infamous giant Santa Claus looking over our humble city, it’s a concrete and glass oasis just waiting to be ‘grammed’.
