And in our quest to create better and better content, we’ve discovered the power of content frameworks! These frameworks are templates that take different forms, which allows our content team, and the other departments, to create content that is immediately engaging and nestled in a pre-ordained structure.

So in today’s blog, we’re talking about all things frameworks! So, without further ado, let’s showcase how having a select few frameworks can help you create quick, efficient copy of all sizes.

What Are Frameworks Anyway?

Essentially, a content framework is just an outline in which a writer can add their content to a preordained structure.

We’ve all had it, especially content writers. You come up with a fantastic idea or a client mentions something that they want to talk about, but you’re struggling with how to display this idea. Would a listicle work? Or maybe it would be better as a bullet point guide? It can be hard to decipher what works best.

Frameworks are fantastic because they are giving you the bare bones of your content before you’ve written a word. It gives you the necessary context for you to then establish your own copy, and showcase your authority. You can focus on what your content is going to say rather than how it’s going to look, that’s already been sorted, thanks to frameworks.

From an SEO perspective, frameworks are great at providing relatively immediate ROI for your own site, or a client’s. The framework provides you with the type of content, all you have to do is add in the relevant keyword and write the copy.

The frameworks themselves can take many different forms, to make things clearer, we’ve listed a few examples below.

RLL (Ridiculously Long Lists)

RLL’s are a type of framework that require you to write around 100+ points about a topic relevant to your industry.

Some examples of RLL could be:

  • Social media strategies
  • SEO tips

This type of content can do very well at generating natural backlinks because it is authoritative and therefore people will link to it to support their own content.

The Industry Study

Industry studies are a great way to build authority in your field and are perfect if you’re struggling to think about something to write about. After all, if you’re working in an industry, there stands a good chance that you know as much, if not more about it than most.

Here are some potential industry study-esque titles:

  • We reviewed the content marketing industry, here’s what we learned.
  • How to rank on page one of Google, using a case study as an example
  • Social media advertising tips

By studying an industry, or part of an industry, you’re encouraging people to share it because, invariably, they’ll have an opinion on your take and want to tell the world about it.

This type of value-led content is all about educating the reader and thus being seen by them as knowledgeable. If the content is good enough, which of course if you, dear reader, are writing it then I’m sure it will, users are more likely to share it.

Here are what Go To guides could look like:

  • How to write the perfect blog
  • Beginners guide to Facebook advertising
  • How to become the most authoritative voice on [choose topic]

The go-to guidebook writes itself in many ways – just write down your own process that you do yourself. If it’s honest and real you’re going to come across as authoritative because it’s what comes naturally to you.
