Embryo & Manchester Mind

Mental health is an extremely important subject and something which as a team and business Embryo care deeply about. The last 12 months have been a challenge for many and after having more than doubled in size, with the majority of the team joining during lockdown restrictions, we’ve worked hard to ensure the team feels supported during these times, creating development programmes, organising online socials and regular communication.

As a company, Embryo believes in going above and beyond and we want to extend this thought process to our local Manchester community, which is why earlier this year we decided to become charity partners of Manchester Mind.

Manchester Mind (formerly HARP) is an independent local charity that helps to support better mental health for all in the Manchester area for over 30 years. They believe that everyone deserves support in their mental health needs and work hard to ensure their services are delivered in a way that enables people to feel heard and involved.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health issue in any one year, and this is why we felt Manchester Mind were a great charity for us to support, as the work they do is extremely invaluable.

Training courses, emergency food response, peer support, and a listening service are just some of the services Manchester Mind offer to help support people of all ages to live well in their communities and at work.

We will be supporting Manchester Mind with a range of fundraising events throughout the year and we’re starting this month with our Commuting Challenge.

The challenge involves the full team to walk, run or skip the team’s total community distance to our office in Manchester. The total distance is 577 miles and we’re asking each team member to complete this distance in four weeks – between now and Easter. We’ll be sharing pictures and updates on our social channels and we’d really appreciate your support. You can show your support in the following ways:

  • Sharing our challenge on your social channels
  • Engaging with our social posts about the challenge, in order to amplify the message
  • Donate to our JustGiving page, in which the full donation will go to Manchester Mind to help them continue with their amazing work
