Duties and responsibilities

  • As an Executive member of the team within the Organic department, you will be supported in your campaign management by the Senior Account Managers.
  • You will be assisting in implementing a range of SEO tasks and optimisations across client websites to help improve their organic performance. You will be working closely with our SEO account managers to effectively help deliver strategies to our array of clients.
  • You will be reporting on all organic performance on a monthly basis for clients, whilst also regularly reporting internally to the team on client KPIs.
  • You will work on all aspects of SEO campaigns, from on-page optimisations to off-site analysis and outreach. You will also work closely with our Technical SEO to help ensure all technical site health is up to standards.
  • Auditing – You should be comfortable completing and analysing onsite and offsite SEO audits which are presentable to clients. You should be able to manipulate large data sets in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Delivery of Work – you will be responsible for the delivery of SEO work on your clients to a high standard, with support from the specialist SEO Account Managers within the team.
  • Self-development – As an Executive, you are expected to attend regular training sessions to enhance your own knowledge and skills within the industry. This will support your progression to Senior Executive level.
  • Building professional relationships – We pride ourselves on our level of customer service and the way we work with clients. Building good relationships with your team and your clients is a key part of your role. You’ll need to have a deep understanding of the client’s business, brand, sector, competitors, and audiences.
  • Teamwork – You’ll need to be a team player and work with other areas of the business on multi-channel clients. A large part of your day will be liaising with Content within the Organic department to ensure they are aware of the correct strategy to be delivered month on month.
  • KPIs – Support the team to ensure that client Organic KPIs and objectives are met.
  • Contributions – Play an active part in the growth of not only client campaigns but also the wider team and business.

Skills

  • Technical – You should be comfortable with using CMS platforms such as WordPress and Shopify. Although preferred, but not essential, basic HTML and PHP coding skills. Training will be provided on technical software should it be required.
  • Desirable Experience – You have at least 1+ years of SEO experience and be comfortable with working across multiple client campaigns of different sizes.
  • Software – Experience in using Screaming Frog, GSuite, SEO Campaign Management Tools such as Ahrefs & SERanking is preferable, although full training will be provided where needed. GA4 and Google Search Console are also beneficial to the role.
  • Communication – You should be comfortable engaging with clients, and reporting to them over the phone and face to face. You should come across as confident and knowledgeable in SEO and the strategy you have set out for them. Your communication skills both written and verbal should be excellent.
  • Time Management – We use a fantastic tool to assist in time management, but you should also be confident that your workload is manageable and that appropriate deadlines are set and met.
  • Passion – You should be passionate about SEO and want to deliver the best organic results for your clients.
  • Desire to learn – you’ll be expected to display a positive attitude towards learning and undertake a structured in-house training programme. In addition, you’ll be expected to learn within your own time to help further improve your knowledge across the channel.
  • Relationship Building – You should have excellent relationship-building skills, creating professional relationships that are managed and maintained effectively.

 

SEO Executive Progression

Senior SEO Account Manager

Communication
Client and internal comms to an excellent standard, regularly attending calls and face-to-face meetings. Regular involvement in pitch meetings and proposals.

Execution
Developing effective SEO strategies across a range of clients and industries, managing SEO budget in line with strategic decisions (planning for content, tech SEO, link building).

Knowledge
Running regular training sessions for the SEO and wider team. Regularly analysing key data to identify opportunities within SEO, but also understanding other digital channels.

Leadership
Support and coach the junior team members to assist them with any upskilling and problem-solving. Ensure your industry knowledge stays up to date with any relevant updates and share your knowledge with your pod by carrying out team training.

Reporting
Create and utilise SEO reporting through tools such as GA, GSC, Databox. Have a keen analytical approach, able to comprehensively understand key reporting metrics in Google Analytics & GSC.

Workflow Management
Excellent organisation and time management.

SEO Account Manager

Communication
Client comms to an excellent standard, regularly attending calls and face-to-face meetings. Confidently liaising with key stakeholders across the business.

Execution
Developing effective SEO strategies across a range of clients and industries, managing SEO budget in line with strategic decisions (planning for content, tech SEO, link building).

Knowledge
Have a comprehensive understanding of how SEO can work alongside other channels. Also able to run regular training sessions within the SEO department and wider team when needed.

Leadership
Leading more junior members of the team strategically and within their SEO knowledge

Reporting
Create and utilise SEO reporting through tools such as GA, GSC, Databox. Have a keen analytical approach, able to comprehensively understand key reporting metrics in Google Analytics & GSC.

Workflow Management
Excellent organisation and time management. Efficiently able to create tasks and manage your own time using workflow management tools

Senior SEO Executive

Communication
Confidently communicate to both internal stakeholders and external clients where needed.

Execution
Actively working with account managers on strategy creation across a range of clients. Managing mid-high tier client task execution and actively raising opportunities for campaign growth. Using new updates and information to inform decisions on client campaigns.

Knowledge
Have an in-depth understanding of SEO and clear knowledge of how SEO sits amongst other channels and impacts other channels.

Reporting
Create and utilise SEO reporting through GA, GSC, Databox. Have a keen analytical approach, able to comprehensively understand key reporting metrics in Google Analytics & GSC.

Workflow Management
Excellent organisation and time management. Efficiently able to create tasks and manage your own time using workflow management tools.

SEO Executive

Communication
Confidently handle both internal comms and client communications on SEO accounts, clearly explaining issues and communicating with clients.

Execution
Management of low to mid-tier clients across various industries, executing day-to-day SEO tasks, through identifying technical SEO issues, implementing on-page changes and link building.

Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of all SEO pillars and ability to identify issues within each pillar.

Reporting
Create and utilise SEO reporting through GA, GSC, Databox. Have a keen analytical approach, able to comprehensively understand key reporting metrics in Google Analytics & GSC.

Workflow management
Efficiently able to create tasks and manage your own time using workflow management tools.
